Seizures (Epilepsy) are seen in patients because of diabetes mellitus according to a recent research. To date, there is no particular medication through which epilepsy can be cured permanently. But diazepam and carbamazepine are reported to be effective in some DM1 and DM2 patients with epilepsy. In addition, Ketogenic diet can even improve the condition of a patient with seizure or epilepsy. This diet generally includes the consumption of high-fat and low carbohydrate food in order to lessen the sugar level in the body of the patient. All in all, this works very well in the patients with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
